Masato Takahashi
Born in 1979. After completing his master's degree at the Royal College of Art in London, he moved to Basel, Switzerland, where he worked for approximately 7 years at Herzog & de Meuron, the internationally renowned architecture firm that received the Pritzker Prize, often called the Nobel Prize of architecture. Across five continents, he worked on diverse projects ranging from residences, hotels, retail stores, museums, offices, stadiums, landscaping to urban design, with luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Hilton as major clients, emphasizing regional characteristics. After about 10 years of activity in Europe, he returned to Japan. With an approach that gives form to "place memory" and "client context" to create utility, strength, and beauty, he has expanded his scope of activity from architectural design to interior, urban and regional development, sustainability, and innovation fields. He promotes domestic and international development projects while collaborating with various companies and institutions across disciplines and industries.
Co-founder of the new business development group "Any," former Chief Architect at satellite data solution company "Synspective," former private expert committee member of the APEC Low Carbon City Task Force, and serves on the design board at ARCHI HATCH, which provides spatial digital archives. Winner of SD Review twice, considered the gateway for architects, and numerous international competition awards.
